Analysis and Evaluation of a Lossless Turn-On Snubber

چکیده

Abs t rac t A l o s s l e s s turn-on snubber was studied a n a l y t i c a l l y , b y s imulat ion and exper imenta l ly . Limits were found for the proper operat ion o f the snubber and are expressed as permiss ib l e duty c y c l e as a funct ion o f input current. It was found that a modified v e r s i o n o f the snubber, which includes a tapped main inductor, improves the performance b y a l l o w i n g a wider operat ional range. The experimental results confirm the theoret ica l analys is . A reduct ion of power l o s s e s o f about 19W was observed when the snubber was implemented i n a 1kW Boost converter .
